About Us
Our Commitments
Everything we do starts with a simple promise: no community should face its worst day without a way to connect. Our vision, mission and values set out what we’re working toward, how we go about it and the principles we hold ourselves to along the way.
Vision
We envision a world where every community, however remote, can stay connected and look after its people when disaster strikes. When storms, floods, fires and earthquakes take out the power and the phone network, the first hours matter most, and too many communities face them cut off and unable to call for help or coordinate with their neighbours. We believe that should never be the case. We see resilient, community-owned networks in towns, villages and neighbourhoods everywhere, ready before they’re needed and working when everything else has failed. From a single rural settlement to an entire region, communities that can communicate are communities that can protect each other, recover faster and come back stronger.
Mission
To give communities practical, affordable and resilient communication technology they own and control. We build solar-powered, offline-first tools that keep people talking, sharing information and coordinating help when the power and phone network go down, and we work alongside communities, councils and responders to make sure those tools are ready before they’re needed.
Values
- Community first: We build with communities, not just for them. People who live in a place know it best.
- Resilience by design: Everything we make is rugged, simple and built to keep working when other systems fail.
- Accessible to everyone: No app installs, no accounts and no internet. If you have a phone, you can join.
- Practical and honest: We make tools that work in the real world, and we’re upfront about what they can and can’t do.
- Purpose over profit: As a social enterprise, we reinvest in our mission of building resilient communities.
About Us
Resilient communities don’t happen by accident. They’re built by people who decide to be ready before the worst day arrives. Whether you’re part of a local group, a council, a business or a funder, there’s a place for you in this work. Talk to us about a pilot, a partnership or a way to support the mission, and let’s make sure no community is left without a way to connect.
